One of my favorite times of the year is fall.  The process of vibrant green leaves showing their yellow, orange, and red hues is a brilliant sight to see.

As the trees transition through their seasons, so too does Father bring us through many different seasons during our lives.

  • Springs of budding new beginnings
  • Summers of growth and change
  • Falls of letting go, moving on, and harvests of bounty
  • Winters of enduring, persevering, and conserving

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. – Ecclesiastes 3:1

Trees do a wonderful job of accepting and embracing the realities of each season.

How well do we do?

Calm My Anxious Heart by Linda Dillow is one of the most helpful books I’ve read about contentment (also see her book – A Deeper Kind of Calm):

“Contentment is essentially a matter of accepting from God’s hand what He sends because we know that He is good and therefore it is good.”

Two life-changing truths to memorize and review before, after, and during our season changes are:

LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. – Psalm 16:5

God . . . is the blessed controller of all things, the king over all kings and the master of all masters. – 1 Timothy 6:15, PH

Our Blessed Controller who lovingly reminds us:

“I can do whatever I want, whenever I want, however I want, and through whoever I want.” – Father

And the more we know Him and walk in His ways, we find both delight and comfort in believing His goodness and embracing each new season He brings to our lives.
