“Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you’ll live… at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin’ to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take… OUR FREEDOM!” – William Wallace Braveheart

There are countless movies with heart-stirring scenes of impassioned speeches about freedom.  At the core of our being, we long to be free.

Free from:

  • Terrorism and oppression from other countries
  • Bondage to credit card debts
  • Fear of losing our job, our spouse, or our possessions
  • Burdens of illness

How often do we long with the same level of passion for our’s and others’ eternal spiritual freedom as we do for freedom from temporary tangible things?

Freedom from spiritual:

  • Blindness and oppression
  • Emotional bondage
  • Fears that plague us
  • Weights on our hearts
  • Burdens

Psalm 146:7-8; 147:3:

He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry.
The LORD sets prisoners free,
the LORD gives sight to the blind,
the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down,

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

How often do we passionately participate in Father’s mission of bringing eternal spiritual freedom to ourselves and others?

Isaiah 61:1-3:

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.

Are you walking in the freedom Father is offering you?

Are you ministering freedom to others in ways Father is calling you to do so?
