Gifts — we all love to receive them. It’s fun to give them.
We all know that Jesus is God’s gift to us. But how many of us know that Father loves to give His children gifts on a moment-by-moment basis?
Not just on our birthdays, not just at Christmas, but ALL THE TIME!
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17
Father’s gifts are as vast as they are varied.
They are hidden and yet they are found by those who are looking, anticipating, and ready to receive what Father has for them.
I wonder how many of the people attending the fair on this day noticed the magnificent sky which Father had so brilliantly painted for them . . . to remind them of His love, His nearness, His beauty, glory, and splendor.
Rest assured Father is a Gift Giver — the best in fact. His gifts are good and perfect.
Sadly though, many of us miss His gifts because:
- We aren’t looking
- We miss Father’s creativity in how He touches every one of our senses with His love for us and enters into every one of our life situations with reminders of His goodness
- We aren’t willing to receive a gift which requires faith to receive
Father often asks me, “How do you receive a gift?”
I reply, “With open arms and outstretched hands.”
What gift in your life has Father offered that you are resisting in receiving?
Don’t miss out just because it doesn’t fit into your box of reasoning.
